These rules are getting a drastic overhaul, just because I want to change the focus of this board a little bit.
Note: Current threads will remain where they are, unless it is easy to tell where the thread could belong.
I have mulled this over for quite some time, but I would like this board to be much more teen friendly. I don't want a forum just for teens, but I would love this forum to center around adults helping teens or teens helping teens. Of course adults still have their own boards, as I don't want to alienate anyone, and teens are free to post in those if they are not receiving the help they need; however, as you can tell, teens have a board entirely unto themselves. Unless stated otherwise, adults will not be allowed in certain boards. However, adults do have their own board for general discussions that teens are barred from, and all other boards are open for them. Because of this collaboration among teens and adults, I have created some now rules.
1. Respect one another.
2. Teens, your board is about helping you. Being a teen is difficult enough without being hateful toward one another. If you know about Tumblr and Anon messages, you understand how hateful those can be. You do not want that. This board should be a safe place for you.
3. You may discuss any topic you want, be it about sex, drugs, anything, as it relates to the board you are in. As long as you are respectful and sensitive when discussing these topics, they are no longer banned. These are important topics to discuss, especially when it comes to you wanting to include these things in your writing.
4. Read all descriptions carefully to understand what you are supposed to put in that board. Threads will be moved to correct boards or deleted entirely if they are not appropriate.
5. As with the old rules, be mindful of your language. Do not use hateful language. This includes cussing, racist remarks, homophobic remarks, sexist remarks, bigotry, and anything else that may hurt another member of the forum.
6. Make sure your post is easy on the eyes. No crazy colors or wonky fonts or formatting.
7. Posting pics. No pornographic pics or pics that portray hatred in any form. No pics that can be triggering, either. This includes pics on cutting, suicide, anorexia, and anything else that can be triggering. Humorous pics are okay, as long as they are not snarky. My board is meant to be relaxed, so if you are in a heated discussion and post a pic that implies that the member arguing a point is stupid, your comment will be deleted, and you will be given a warning.
8. Posting links. These links must be related to the topic you are discussing. Do not post to links that are pornographic or hateful or triggering.
9. Repeated offenses will result in banning from the forum.
10. If you as an adult post in a board meant for teens only, your thread will be deleted or moved if it can be.
11. Adults, I expect you to be a role model for the teens on this board, so your behavior simply needs to reflect this. I know being labelled with a role model status seems inconvenient, but see this as a special role. You have wisdom you can impart on teens, even if you aren't an experienced writer. This is a great position for you to be in, so do not abuse it.
I will add more rules as needed.
