Ugh...I'm finally printing out the one manuscript I started before having to start revisions on The Stars Are Infinite. With the amount of paper being used, and the thickness of the stack, you'd think the book were actually much longer than it is. How do you guys handle it? Do you actually print out your manuscript? Put it on your e-reader? Just make c hanges from the draft alone?

I never got to the print it out and touch it up stage. And even with my poetry manuscript, I never printed it out, I just polished it up on my computer.

I actually take mine to a stationary store. I don't know if they exist in the States, but it's called Staples, and they do all sorts of stationary and office supply stuff. They have a print center too, where you can print a double-spaced version of a 70k MS in ten minutes for $25. That's less than ink/toner. Strong & Free's second draft is printed out and on my desk for edits, but I'm sick of looking at it so I'm using that program Bunni suggested in the revision forum.

Staples definitely exists here! But I've only ever printed things out for class - more specifically for our mock agent exercise (if you want to know more about that, feel free to ask). So, all my editing has been done via my computer. Of course, if I get a beta reader who prefers to read it in print, that would be a different story, but I haven't gotten that yet.

Yep, Staples does! It's just free at my home to do it, but 25 dollars does seem worth it for the speed alone. Ooh...mock agent exercise. I like that. I think you should put that in the Writing Prompts forum.

Well, I mean, it's not free to do it at home. You have to pay for the paper and the ink/toner. When you're printing some two hundred pages of manuscript, those costs can add up pretty quickly. Especially since ink is apparently made from Chuck Norris tears.
